A powder coating booth is designed to apply dry thermoset powder and includes recovery systems (like cyclones or cartridge filters) to capture and reuse overspray. A liquid paint booth applies wet solvent or water-based paints, using exhaust filters or water curtains to trap overspray, which cannot be reused and must be disposed of safely.
How is powder coating different from liquid painting?
This depends on your coating material. If you are applying powder for durable metal finishes, a powder booth is required. If you are painting plastics, mixed materials, or require exact color matching with liquid paint, a wet paint booth (dry filter or water curtain) is necessary.
